Publisher Description

“It’s perfection, every word, every moment. A masterpiece . . . One of the best books I’ve ever read.” —Lisa Jewell, #1 New York Times bestselling author

New York Times bestselling author Gillian McAllister has created a thriller unlike any other in this endlessly clever, twisty story of a mother who must move backward through time to prevent tragedy from striking at the heart of her family.

Can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?

It is midnight on the morning of Halloween, and Jen anxiously waits up for her 18-year-old son, Todd, to return home. But worries about his broken curfew transform into something much more dangerous when Todd finally emerges from the darkness. As Jen watches through the window, she sees her funny, seemingly happy teenage son stab a total stranger.

She doesn’t know who the victim is, or why Todd has committed such a devastating act of violence. All she knows is that her life, and Todd’s, have been shattered.

After her son is taken into custody, Jen falls asleep in despair. But when she wakes up…it is yesterday. The murder has not happened yet—and there may be a chance to stop it. Each morning, when Jen wakes, she is further back in the past, first weeks, then years, before the murder. And Jen realizes that somewhere in the past lies the trigger for Todd’s terrible crime…and it is her mission to find it, and prevent it from taking place.

Both the story of a mother’s love and the sacrifices she will make for her child, and a thriller with a brilliant twist, Wrong Place Wrong Time is a one-of-a-kind novel that begs to be read in one sitting.

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“😲🤯 My mind is blown. This sci-fi thriller is so full of twists, I never knew what would happen next, or how everything would be connected, but it all came together perfectly. So satisfying!”

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“This was great. I was shook multiple times and really enjoyed the whole aspect of her consciousness going back through significant times and piecing the mystery backwards. I was shook Kelly was Ryan I did not see that coming. I also didn’t see her father being crooked either. I did suspect Clio was baby Eve. What I enjoyed was that it was a mystery and a love story and I truly enjoyed that. I gave it a 4 only because I wasn’t addicted to it.”

Expressionless Face“This book had my attention at the beginning, however I felt like around 20% I had started to lose interest. The writing style wasn’t for me. I found almost all of the “mysteries” to be rather predictable. There were some confusing parts- mostly at the end… she changed everything of how she met her husband and their life? Even though multiple times it was mentioned in the book that she couldn’t change the future. Suddenly at the last second she does? I also couldn’t get over how king the time jumping was. My biggest complaint was when the ‘Ryan chapters’ were in place, they referenced him as both Kelly and Ryan interchangeable in the middle of a paragraph… 😖 I enjoyed the under cover cop aspect of it all..:)”

Slightly Smiling Face“What a great concept for a book! I’m also in awe of the amount of backwards planning McAllister had to do for her book.”
