About the Speaker
Summer Boismier
A lifelong reader, Summer Boismier (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK. A reflection of Oklahoma public education, Summer has been a secondary-level ELA teacher in public schools for almost a decade. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in English education at the University of Oklahoma, which she hopes to complete in 2024. Summer is not only fully committed to the causes of anti-censorship and culturally sustaining, inclusive education for all but also to a deep and abiding belief that lasagna is most definitely a sandwich.
Hosted by Michele Celeste Garcia
Michele Celeste Garcia is an avid reader across genres, EFL teacher, and writer working on a perpetual first draft of a novel. She splits her time between Turin, Italy, and Santa Fe, New
Mexico, and you can often find her hauling suitcases stuffed full of books rather than clothes between those two destinations. A member of the Authors Guild Banned Books Club on Fable since the beginning, she loves interacting with other readers and writers through the app, and hopes one day the club can add the word “formerly” before “banned” in its title. She moderates the Doorstoppers Epic Reads Book Club on Fable.
