Die Studie stellt die erste umfassende linguistische Analyse der Textsorte Dissertations-Danksagung im deutschsprachigen Raum dar. Auf der Grundlage eines eigens für die Untersuchung entwickelten Textbeschreibungsmodells wird die Entwicklungsgeschichte der Textsorte in vier ausgewählten Fachdisziplinen nachgezeichnet. Für die textlinguistische Forschung leistet diese empirische Arbeit insofern einen wichtigen Beitrag, als sie die Textlinguistik in ihrem Vorhaben unterstützt, eine flächendeckende Beschreibung der existierenden Textsorten zu erzielen.
