About the Folio

Everybody winters at one time or another. It is a fallow period in life when you’re cut off from the world, feeling rejected, sidelined, blocked from progress, or cast into the role of an outsider. A robin also sings in winter, practicing for happier times. Like the robin, we sometimes sing to show how strong we are, and we sometimes sing in hope of better times. We sing either way.

Wintering

By Katherine May
Wintering is a metaphor for those phases in our life when we feel frozen out or unable to take the next step. It can happen at any time, in any season, in any weather, and it has nothing to do with the physical cold. In my book, I wrote about seeking an equilibrium as we cope with this kind of winter, rather than bouncing between extremes.
