Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, “Love and Other Words” follows childhood friends Elliot and Macy through their teenage romance, to a decade-long silence, to their accidental reconnection ten years later. In the Then, we watch as they transition from friends to much more over lazy summers and weekends together, reading books and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. But as adults they’ve become strangers to one another until they accidentally reunite in a coffee shop. Although their relationship is obscured by the agony of what happened one night many years ago, Elliot wants to find out the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence. I’ve heard this book is a staple in the romance community. It’s important and beautiful and I cannot wait to read it with you guys!
