If Your Favorite CW Show Were a Book

user post featured pic
The CW practically raised us—whether you were crying over One Tree Hill, swooning in The Vampire Diaries, or obsessing over Gossip Girl’s latest scandal. These shows had a way of mixing high drama, unforgettable characters, and just enough escapism to keep us hooked for years. If you’re feeling nostalgic but not quite ready for a full series rewatch, here are books that capture the exact same energy. One Tree Hill → "A Love Letter to Whiskey" by Kandi Steiner This book is as dramatic and emotional as Nathan, Haley, Lucas, and Peyton’s storylines combined. It’s about soulmates, bad timing, and the heartbreak of always being a little out of sync—perfect if you’re ready for a messy, tear-jerking romance. Veronica Mars → "A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder" by Holly Jackson Sharp, clever, and relentlessly determined—Pip Fitz-Amobi feels like Veronica Mars for a new generation. Both stories prove that small towns hide big secrets, and sometimes it takes a fearless teen girl to uncover them. Supernatural → "A Darker Shade of Magic" by V.E. Schwab Sibling banter, dangerous journeys, and an endless fight against dark forces—sound familiar? This fantasy about parallel Londons and powerful magic is a perfect match for fans of Sam and Dean’s monster-hunting adventures. Smallville → "Legendborn" by Tracy Deonn Both Smallville and Legendborn are about discovering your destiny before you feel ready for it. Bree’s Arthurian journey of grief, power, and identity mirrors Clark Kent’s coming-of-age story in all the best ways. The 100 → "Wasteland" by Kristin Keppler & Allisa Bahney If you loved The 100’s survival drama and constant moral dilemmas, "Wasteland" will feel familiar. It’s gritty, suspenseful, and asks the same haunting question: how far would you go to survive when the world is ending? The Society → "The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches" by Sangu Mandanna Imagine The Society, but instead of a crumbling community, you get cozy witchcraft and found family. Both stories are about building something new when the old world falls away, though this one leans more heartwarming than dystopian. The Vampire Diaries → "A Bargain So Bloody" by Vasilisa Drake Brooding vampires, dangerous deals, and the kind of romance that’s both irresistible and a little destructive—this book has the same intoxicating pull as Damon Salvatore himself. Gossip Girl → "Parachutes" by Kelly Yang Set in an elite prep school, this YA novel dives into privilege, power, and secrets with the same bite as Gossip Girl. It’s glamorous and dramatic, but also unflinchingly honest. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend → "Here We Go Again" by Alison Cochrun A rom-com with time loops, complicated relationships, and a heroine who keeps making questionable choices but never stops trying to get it right. It’s heartfelt, chaotic, and full of emotional depth—just like Rebecca Bunch. Gilmore Girls → "You, Again" by Kate Goldbeck If you miss the rapid-fire dialogue and small-town charm of Gilmore Girls, this book will feel like coming home. A witty, slow-burn romance with just the right amount of chaos—Rory and Jess fans will be especially pleased.  Whether you were Team Stefan or Team Damon, living for Blair Waldorf’s next scheme, or secretly wishing you could move to Stars Hollow, these books will bring the CW magic back into your reading life. Which CW show defined your teen years—and which of these books are you picking up first?
