Inked in Blood and Memory

By Allison Ivy
Inked in Blood and Memory by Allison Ivy digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Recluse Sophie Vanguard's winter cabin retreat turns ominous when blue flowers mysteriously appear. They're everywhere. On her front porch, in kitchen cabinets, and even on her pillow. It isn't long before chilling whispers echo in the halls, and her journal repeats seven unsettling entries.

Enter the bloodied and beautifully eccentric Ly Thi Ren. Though Ren seems familiar, Sophie refuses to believe the girl's insistence that they are trapped inside a book.

In a land of fiction, truth and lies blur together, clear decisions are marred by doubt, and shared family trauma lurks just below the surface.

Can Ren and Sophie make it out alive?  Or will they end up nothing more than words inked in blood and memory?

Thumbs Up“I'm kind of disappointed. I absolutely LOVED the beginning of this book. The snark was fun and I was invested in what was happening. However, as the story wore on, it just started feeling repetitive and the snark became grating as the characters were unable to be serious and it made them feel very 2-dimensional. Instances of flirting occurring at inappropriate moments made me roll my eyes. It felt like there were more perspectives than there were, and it just contributed to the story feeling aimless. Overall, it was a fast read with an interesting plot that unfortunately didn't fully deliver. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC”
“This was an interesting story to say the least. It had a lot going on with multiple POVS and flashbacks that is a little confusing at first but nonetheless, it was captivating from the very beginning. The idea of being trapped in a book is intriguing but also scary, especially if your family sacrifices their firstborn son and your racing against the clock to save your brother. If you like psychological thriller, suspense, horror, and mystery then you'll definitely like this story.”
Thumbs Up“This is not something I would typically read, but I’m trying to branch out. That being said, I had a bit of trouble getting into this one at the beginning. There was quite a bit of POV and timeline jumping that was hard for me to keep straight. Somewhere between chapters 10 and 15, things really started to happen and I was sucked in. Everything made sense and the story really spoke to me. Allison Ivy did a great job in writing this story, and I enjoyed it. Ren, Sophia, and Jeremy go through it in this story. Each one has their own tribulations to go through, but the end goal for all of them is to save one little boy and end their parent’s evil deals once and for all.”
“Inked in bloody & memory by Allison Ivy is a fast paced fantasy, horror and romance all in one. At first the multiple POV’s as well as multiple timelines had me slightly confused however; it eventually became a book I didn’t want to put down. The story is about a family cult who sacrificed their first born son in order to gain fame and riches and the challenges faced by FMC Sophie and Ren who are stuck inside a book and need to get out in order to prevent Sophie's brother being sacrificed to a demon. I found this story to be well written and unique and will keep the suspense levels at an all time high. I really enjoyed the friends to lovers aspect.”
