Publisher Description

Rain De Castro has been in love with her best friend, Mark Velasco, for almost the entire time she has known him, but she's clearly in the friend zone because he's happily in a relationship. Or so she thought, until the news of his break-up reaches her. Now that Mark's single again, she decides that it's time to get out of the zone. But when her cousin Lissa comes into the picture and sets her eyes on Mark, Rain feels troubled when he gets a little too friendly with her. Rain is determined to fight for what she feels this time, but is it worth the effort if it's a losing battle from the start? Will she back off to give way for her best friend's happiness, even if it means losing him to someone else again?

“✨ http://adarkershadeofrosie.com/ + http://www.twitter.com/ashadeofrosie ✨ → DISLIKED: Grammatical errors out the wazoo. A good chunk of the dialogue was written weirdly, like some things got sorely lost in translation. The author was not descriptive of the setting, which takes place in Manila and I have ZERO understanding of. The author also uses a variety of prefixes that mean absolutely nothing to me; some explanation would've been appreciated when they used terms like lolo, lola, ate, kuya, etc. The main character's "cold fury" and "rage" later in the book is not justifiable because she's a simpleton. She literally made me so mad because she just would not be honest with her feelings about Mark to his face. And all she does is talk about her anger - no action! → LIKED: The MC is a computer programmer, which I thought was cool. "If only life, feelings, and love were as simple as making programs — you know, put in the right code, the correct input, and things will happen the way you want them."”
“If I haven’t said this yet, then let me say it now: One of my favorite tropes is the “Friends to Lovers” trope. I am a complete sucker for it. I write it. I read it. I wish I lived it too, but the universe can only give you so much, so. When I learned that Ana Tejano’s Fall Like Rain tackles just that, I knew I had to read. And so I did. The plot is very simple: young woman in love with her best friend struggles to come to terms with her feelings once and for all and decides object of her affection should know, even at the risk of losing the friendship. We’ve seen this happen countless times before, but like I said, I’m a sucker for this trope, so I have no problem lapping it all up. That being said, if you’re looking for slow-burn kilig, you’re in for a good time. But if you’re expecting something flashy, fabulous, and brand-spanking new, this might not be your cup of tea. Fall Like Rain is told in a very simple narrative that allows you access into Rain’s world (it’s told in first person) to follow her as if you’re a friend who, like many of the peripheral characters in this book, wish her to “get the boy,” so to speak. Overall, I loved Fall Like Rain for its simplicity, the straightforward storytelling, and the very charming love interest. I may have wanted a little more conflict between the characters other than the ones ingrained in Rain’s head, but that’s just me. If you’re into lighthearted reads with happily ever afters (there, I said it!), you might want to pick this one up, too. <3 Full review on https://taratriestowrite.wordpress.com/2015/09/30/book-review-fall-like-rain-ana-tejano/ !”
“I received a digital copy of this book from Pinoy Book Tours when I signed up for its blog tour in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All are my own opinion and is not compensated by any individual, organization, or company. This might contain minor spoilers. Fall Like Rain is a story about Rain and how she dealt with her feelings for Mark, her best friend. http://media.giphy.com/media/WQWWrASn3uzn2/giphy.gif Sweet, right? Best friend love story! Chills, chills everywhere. Best friends-turned-lovers stories are pretty much common plot nowadays. I was actually addicted to reading on Wattpad before and I remembered that I always searched for stories with best friends who fall in love to each other and end up being together. But because of the popularity of this kind of ‘plot’, a lot of this is scattered everywhere. For me, it becomes a very ugly cliché. So when I signed up for this... http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8grlb0z151qbelaf.gif I was hopeful that I won’t get disappointed. The first chapters of the book is very nice, it kept me intrigued on how Mark is. It’s like the author is throwing all the snazzy ideas about him that it triggers an excitement from my insides. I was actually looking forward for when Mark had made his appearance. When Mark had his debut, I was like... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0iqsD9ghfoQ/UZ-Q3ZoZtJI/AAAAAAAADfc/e-0trWDsvEY/s1600/ohhh-myyyy.gif “Oh, okay, so he’s that type of guy.”  You know that type of guy everyone can’t avoid but like because of his character? He’s that. The story is written in Rain’s perspective. I find it good at first but later on I kind of got bored of it. I kind of like got tired of all her thinking. I wasn’t sure anymore if it’s because she is too absorbed of herself or because I find her wishy-washy. It’s like the story is becoming wishful without doing anything and just keep on its slow tracks. http://www.dxpnet.com/i.asp?f=http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/guttedc0rpse/Tumblr/tumblr_m8f28jg5DU1rnqx8i.gif I like the dynamicity of things I read so maybe this story is too overly passive for me. I was actually pitching on Meah’s character. It is a relief that there are colourful characters around Rain, because hers are too dull to maintain good watch. I find the scenes with Meah fun and easy. It would do good if there are side stories about Meah, too, or maybe about her Kuya Raymond, or Cams. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6hbgevOEZ1rwcc6bo1_500.gif That would be good too! The pace was picked up around midway, and it was a relief on my part. It’s such a good thing because finally I can connect fully to the story. I could finally feel the ‘feels’ to the point of me shedding a few drops of tears. I really like the character development that happened here. It taught me about how your family and friends could back you up at all times even when you don't require them to do so. That nature alone is so touching. I should commend Rain also for she is the one who actually made the biggest development in the story. http://media3.giphy.com/media/DtF5fQKn40Vy0/giphy.gif That kiss in the ending is so familiar and cinematic also. It is the kind of ending you see often in romance-themed films. I recommend it to dedicated romance readers out there because I was sure it would do better to them than me. I recommend it to people who loves charming guys like Mark, ecstatic bestfriend like Meah and Rain's cousins and a little passive type woman like Rain.
