“This book served as a reminder. A reminder of why I don't like short story books. Out of the 18 stories, I would say I thoroughly enjoyed maybe 5 of them. The one's I enjoyed were easliy 5 stars. Meanwhile, the ones I did not enjoy felt like a complete waste of time and made it take a lot longer to get through this book. If this book wasn't for one of my book clubs I would have DNF'd this for sure. “I have been reading several of Jack Dann's edited collections lately (going alphabetically through my plethora of books), and I can say this was the first one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Almost all of the stories were intriguing. There were only a few that I felt it necessary to skim through, because they held little interest. This is definitely a must read for fans of magic.”
