“This book served as a reminder. A reminder of why I don't like short story books. Out of the 18 stories, I would say I thoroughly enjoyed maybe 5 of them. The one's I enjoyed were easliy 5 stars. Meanwhile, the ones I did not enjoy felt like a complete waste of time and made it take a lot longer to get through this book. If this book wasn't for one of my book clubs I would have DNF'd this for sure. I will try more short story books in future but hopefully not anytime soon.”

“I have been reading several of Jack Dann's edited collections lately (going alphabetically through my plethora of books), and I can say this was the first one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Almost all of the stories were intriguing. There were only a few that I felt it necessary to skim through, because they held little interest. This is definitely a must read for fans of magic.”
