“Why was this book ?!?!?!?
I didn't DNF this book because I'm so behind on my reading goal that I didn't want to waste time reading something I didn't finish.
All of my whys:
- Why does the older sister act like she is the younger sister, who might be 14 years old, while the younger sister acts like the older sister, who is in her 30s, maybe older?
- Why did she and her friend call each other "Stress" and "Drama?" Each time these nicknames were used, I wanted to vomit as it gave me an extreme form of the ick.
- Why was there so much 21st-century slang used? I thought I liked urban fantasy because of Cassandra Clare, but I was wrong. I don't mind the slang or pop culture references in her urban fantasies because the shadowhunters are always confused by the words or references. It made it seem less out of place. The main character of this book uses so much slang and says it with her whole chest, and I didn't like it. It took me out of the story each time.”
“I wanted to love this one so much. 😫 The cover is amazing! 🤩 The title is fantastic! 👸🏾 But I’m 30% in and nothing significant has happened. Too many characters and limited character development. Sorry author. 🤷🏾♀️”
