“I’m going to take any chance I can to delve back into the world of tinker bell and I loved it.
This book was sooo much fun to read. I laughed so much and the plot was really good and so clever. I loved exploring the lore and history of the winter woods further. The excerpts included every few chapters was also so fun to read and see.
Half way, I was so confused (in a good way) that got me questioning everything and I got super into the plot. I also really appreciated the small details that ground the characters and keep the magic/authenticity of the tinker bell movies.
The banter and bickering was also so fun and refreshing to see in this book since it’s definitely not what I expected. In a good way, this book isn’t like Wings of Starlight. It’s definitely a lot more twisty, manipulative, mysterious, layered, and “grey” (not black & white). But on the other hand, I wished it was more action packed and there were more “risks” or “stakes” in the plot.
Personally, also, I wasn’t a huge fan of the writing style. Because of that, I wasn’t confused sometimes, but nothing I didn’t understand later on. I also just had a hard time visualizing the winter woods this time around but that’s typical for me.
I was just so excited to read this book and it was so much fun to read. I had a great time and it was definitely worth my time.”
“Loved this read!! Still think I love wings of starlight more but this was such a great story. So sweet and the plot twist got me, which is hard to do bc I’m always jumping to conclusions (totally called the Selene reveal as soon as Peri first ran into her tho)
I enjoyed the ending but it also kind of felt…idk rushed?? Cliche?? I’m not sure. The forgiveness and the “everyone lived happily ever after” felt kind of… undeserved? Too easy? I’m not how to properly convey my thoughts on it.
I understand Peri’s forgiveness of Weaver, that I can get behind. But I think everyone was a bit too quick to let Dougal off the hook. But maybe I’m just more accustomed to reading high stakes books.
Still loved it and will definitely be rereading.”
