“"All things begin and end here, in the desert, at the bottom of the sea..."
Part biography, part history lesson, part memoir, part social commentary, all of it self indulgent; this was nothing like what I expected. Is this good or bad, haven't decided yet !
Like its name sake, the sea, this book takes you bobbing up then down then back again. An organic force in its own right, this book is completly unpredictable, something that i never quite got used to.
Taking everything from personal anecdotes to historical accounts and presenting them in this permanently interwoven wave of information.
I found the pacing of this book very odd and hard to hold on to, finding the organic "train of thought" approach as opposed to a strict structure, often confusing, however, a true reflection of Blakes work.
A recommendation for fans of Blake.
