Wild Fire (Winged Warriors #2)
ByPublisher Description
A cop looking for the truth. A dragon looking for revenge. Can they work together to find justice? Danica Morris had been a member of the Seattle Police Department for what felt like an eternity, but tonight, her hard work would finally pay off. She was wrapping up a nearly year-long investigation into a cult-led trafficking operation. Young people, mostly girls, were leaving home, joining the cult, and never being seen again. The bust had gone down like clockwork. Moving through the deserted warehouse she found a set of stairs that led down. She heard a haunting sound coming from the depths of the building. Taking a deep breath, she descended a set of stairs and rounded a stack of metal cages. There, chained to the floor with heavy iron links, was a dragon. A real-life, scaled, and winged dragon. Warrick, one of the Phantom Fire, had been chained and trapped in this cellar for a long time. Hearing someone approach he opens his eyes expecting his captors again. Only to find the most beautiful woman staring at him in shock, and he knew that she was his fated mate. His captors were nowhere to be found, and as their eyes met Danica couldn't help but feel a strange connection between them. Despite her better judgment, she sets Warrick free and the two embark on a journey to uncover the truth and seek justice. But when they find themselves in the middle of a centuries-old battle between dragons and humans, will they be able to work together to find a solution?

“Wild Fire is book two in the winged warriors series by Delta James. I liked the book but felt like it wasn’t as action driven as I thought it would be with the first warrior and a detective as the main characters. I look forward to continuing the series though as I am intrigued and want to know how it’ll turn out. I would give it 3.5/5 stars.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.”
“Independent reviewer for Book Sirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 2 in the Winged Warriors series, and while not necessary, I think it would help to read book one, Phantom Fire. It is a better read than this one, I thought.
I liked this one, not as much as Phantom Fire though.
It is, again, an easy read, one where you can see what's coming at you, but I found it a bit lacking in substance. There were some continuity errors too, that put my off a bit.
The biggest one? Dani was dragged out of bed by the bad guys and kidnapped, tied to a pole. Then, all of a sudden, after being rescued by Warrick and the others, she manages to find a business card?? Where the hell FROM??
It's steamy and smexy, with both Warrick and Dani having powerful attraction, right from the start. That doesn't let up, at all and runs right through the shorter book, some 170 pages as opposed to the 220 pages for Phantom.
This author has a massive back list, and I've read a fair few. I'm beginning to see a pattern. I usually liked the first book in the series, then the following books are a bit lacking. This is, though, the first time I've noticed such glaring errors.
3 stars, because I did finish it.
