Who Was Eleanor Roosevelt? by Gare Thompson & Who HQ & digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

For a long time, the main role of First Ladies was to act as hostesses of the White House...until Eleanor Roosevelt.  Born in 1884, Eleanor was not satisfied to just be a glorified hostess for her husband, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  Eleanor had a voice, and she used it to speak up against poverty and racism.  She had experience and knowledge of many issues, and fought for laws to help the less fortunate.  She had passion, energy, and a way of speaking that made people listen, and she used these gifts to campaign for her husband and get him elected president-four times!  A fascinating historical figure in her own right, Eleanor Roosevelt changed the role of First Lady forever.

Who Was Eleanor Roosevelt? Reviews

“I just learned so much! I wish I’d had this book as a kid, or another one that was honest about her family situation. I would have felt a lot less alone, I think, as I really looked up to people like her.”
“This book was perfect for learning some information about Eleanor Roosevelt even as a young adult. I read these books when I was younger and this was perfect to learn a little history. I liked that it didn't ignore FDR's affair but made it kid friendly, as I am older than the intended reader, I knew what it was implying. Overall good quick read to get some facts on Eleanor.”
