Its been a while since I delved into a Catherine Cowles series and I am so glad to be back!!
Holt and Wren were the loveliest start to what I feel is going to be a magical trip with the Hartley family and associates!
As with most first books in a series, I feel as though you need the time to get to know who everyone is, and it isnt to say I didnt enjoy this (I flew through it over two days!) But it didnt give me that feeling that I have with other romances (suspenseful or otherwise!)
I felt as though we needed a bit more character depth, as most of what we knew of the characters was very surface level and typically linked to the incident 10 years ago.
I do like the way CC writes and despite me figuring it out quite early on who the murderer was, it didnt take away from my enjoyment of the book.
I am looking forward to delving into Book 2.... already intrigued by Roan!!”
