Beaming Face with Smiling Eyes“🎧 It isn't very often when the second book is better than the first.... but I have to say that this is one! I really enjoyed both of these books, dont get me wrong. But. This book tied everything together so marvelously and still had me guessing. I love Whit and his relationship with Inez . Loved how it grew and really became what it needed to be for them both. The rogue was a good guy after all. 😏 These books definitely give me all the 'mummy' vibes with the perfect amount of suspense and intrigue. The author did leave an opening to the possibility of a third book.... and I would be so down to read it if she ever writes it! No cliffhanger, but the possibility is there. 🥰”
“A fantastic summary of a duology, high stakes, big reveals, and major plot twists. Inez is left reeling after the events of book 1, including murder, betrayal, ultimatums, and unexpected confessions of love. When she makes the bold decision to stay in Egypt, she is betrayed yet again. She seemingly has to start all over again, trying to find her parents and survive in the cut-throat world of ancient Egyptian artifacts and excavations. As events unfold, new friendships are formed, chaos ensues, and Inez does her best to make the right decisions for herself. This world is so vivid, full of life, color, and human emotion, set against an ancient backdrop. The plot twists genuinely had my jaw on the floor. Highly recommend this duology; it is absolutely worth your time.”
