Retelling of Romeo and Juliet…. Before there was Juliet there was Rosaline.

Romeo and Juliet has always been one of my favorite tragic stories and one of the few Shakespeare stories I liked. This retelling is modern but heartbreaking and I think the author did a good job overall. It’s definitely slow for the first half almost a snooze fest but I was all in on the second half. The epilogue was very insightful. If you are a fan of Rebecca Serle or Shakespeare then I recommend checking this one out. It is young adult and is written as such so keep that in mind going into it.”
“I will say that this was definitely a very easy read, but I did find myself disappointed with it. I absolutely adore Romeo and Juliet so I was excited to read this different take on it, but I found most of the characters to be just overall unlikable. I also found that due to it being placed in a modern setting it kind of felt like I was reading a wattpad retelling of the original story.”
