What Is the Coronavirus Disease COVID-19?
ByPublisher Description
The #1 New York Times Best-Selling series tells the story of how COVID-19, a coronavirus, was first identified and how it spread throughout the world in the new Who HQ Now format for trending topics.
The coronavirus disease COVID-19 emerged in November 2019. By March 2020, cities all around the world closed schools, offices, restaurants and other public spaces deemed “non-essential” in an attempt to contain the fast-spreading virus. People struggled to follow government orders, stay indoors, and limit contact with others.
But the virus that caused one of the world’s deadliest pandemics eventually killed over five million people worldwide. This is the story of how COVID-19 changed the world seemingly overnight, and forever.

“This book is a nonfiction chapter book about COVID-19. This book is one of the ones I presented for the group genre project. I chose this book originally because I did not know this series is still making books today. Seeing a book about something I lived through was such a crazy concept for me so I had to grab it. I really enjoyed this book and felt it would be great for kids. These books are great transition books for children, they are similarly written to The Magic Tree House or The Rainbow Magic series. This book teaches us the events of COVID and how the world was affected by it. I would personally add this to my library because it was such a cool thing to read. I know I have lived through a lot of historical events, but I have never seen one been written as this was only 4 years ago, which truly felt like yesterday. I think this book would be great for kids because it is educational, although I do not see children wanted this read to them before they go to bed. I think that when kids mature and get older, they might want to add this to their libraries one day. But for me, I will plan on adding a lot of these books to my library.”
