“I might be a little burned out on Vonnegut by now. I think this is my third or fourth short story collecting of his I've read this year.
So one thing I've noticed is that there are two Vonneguts. There's the wild, inventive moralist novel writer and the wry, grounded moralist short story crafter.
You know how the singles off a Taylor Swift album are never the heart of a Taylor Swift album? Short stories were Vonnegut's singles. They're good. They're often bangers (looking at you, Deer In The Works and The Kid Nobody Could Handle). But while Vonnegut is a master of his art, short stories just aren't were his talents best express themselves.”

About Kurt Vonnegut
Kurt Vonnegut’s humor, satiric voice, and incomparable imagination first captured America’s attention in The Sirens of Titan in 1959 and established him as “a true artist” (The New York Times) with Cat’s Cradle in 1963. He was, as Graham Greene declared, “one of the best living American writers.” Mr. Vonnegut passed away in April 2007.
