“R.L. Stine’s Welcome to Dead House is a spine-chilling introduction to the Goosebumps series, and it delivers exactly what you’d expect from a classic haunted house story. The eerie atmosphere is set right from the start as Amanda and Josh move into their new home in Dark Falls, only to realize that something isn’t quite right.
What makes this book stand out is Stine’s ability to create a vivid and unsettling atmosphere. His descriptions are so immersive that I felt like I was inside the story, experiencing the creeping dread alongside the characters. The suspense builds steadily, keeping you hooked as Amanda and Josh uncover the terrifying truth about their new home.
The pacing is quick, making it an easy and engaging read. While the story follows familiar horror tropes, it does so in a way that still feels fresh and spooky. I genuinely found myself spooked at times, which is a testament to Stine’s storytelling.
Overall, Welcome to Dead House is an eerie, well-paced horror story that serves as a great introduction to Goosebumps. If you enjoy ghostly mysteries with a classic haunted house vibe, this one is definitely worth a read!”
