Publisher Description

The #1 New York Times bestselling Red Queen series comes to a stunning conclusion in War Storm.

VICTORY COMES AT A PRICE.

Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal’s betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart—and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her—Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all . . . starting with the crown on Maven’s head.

But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal’s powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolish everything—and everyone—in his path.

War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?

In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard’s stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power . . . for all will be tested, but not all will survive.

“I took my sweet time reading War Storm. Victoria popped off with her imagery throughout this. I can picture each scene so vividly and it scratched a part of my brain that loves settings LOL I couldn't help but humanize Maven still even tho he has done so much. I was SHOCKED to get a Maven and Cal POV. thank god no Cameron POVs (lol sorry im a hater) Evangeline's plot with knowing her dad would die was so conflicting to me. Honestly I wouldn't know what to do in that situation. At one point I was convinced that Ptolemus was going to die. I'm glad they were able to escape. It was so good to read the train was speeding away and Maven's face falling. I wish it was revealed what Nanabel and Julian asked Iris to do. Was it to waterboard Maven into capture? Was it fighting Cal for appearances? Maven being teleported to Montfort... the gasp i gusped, also I felt a lil betrayed for Mare. What do you mean we're bringing my abuser back with us?! Tbh I had to read the scene about Maven's death a couple of times because I didn't get it, and then I did. He wanted to die in the hands of Mare, so he did. ugh. I spent 3 books convincing myself that he would be saved. I wanted him saved. I miss book 1 maven. Cal getting a chance to read his mom's diary was so heartbreakingly special. I'm so curious how he would have grown up if his mom was around. Hey past me (tb to my book 3 (King's Cage) review), I guess we can dismantle the whole system. No more crowns, no more kings. Cal and Mare not ending up together at the end, though bittersweet, is so so so real. I love authors who don't shy away from tragic, sad endings (when done right). These are the books that always keep me thinking. Didn't realize Broken Throne had some Post War Storm stories, so def spoiled myself on one. it's ok I needed to know for the part of my brain that needs closure and some HEA.”
“Maven was my favorite character 🫠 Mare somehow got even more annoying throughout the series?? The big teenage feelings were at its peak in this book which at times got really annoying. Overall, a perfectly fine YA fantasy series- nothing to write home about.”
