Publisher Description

A powerfully moving graphic novel that explores the affects of war on children from New York Times bestselling author Eoin Colfer and the team behind the Artemis Fowl graphic novels.

When her city is invaded, Kat suddenly finds her life ripped apart, her family divided and her father taken captive. Adam has been forcibly conscripted into the invading army. When their worlds collide can they trust each other long enough to win freedom for Kat's father?

WAR is not a story about any one specific war. It is a story about the effects of each and every war on the most vulnerable group of people in the world – children.

War Reviews

5.0
“One of those stories that doesn’t just stay on the page—it stays with you. This graphic novel hit me hard. It was emotionally triggering in places, but in a way that felt important rather than overwhelming. The story offers such a raw, human look at displacement and survival, and it completely shifted my perspective. I found myself sitting with it long after I finished. The artwork is absolutely stunning—every panel feels intentional, atmospheric, and deeply expressive. It carries just as much weight as the words, sometimes even more. More than anything, this book builds understanding. It creates space for compassion—for refugees, for people living through things many of us will never fully comprehend. I genuinely wish more people would read this. This is a 5-star read for me, no question. It’s powerful, eye-opening, and unforgettable.”
