“3.5 stars Emily Webb is what you could consider a geek, a very shy high school girl into books and horror movies. But on the night that a classmate is murdered, Emily begins to do things that she would never dream of doing....sneaking out to go to parties and such. Emily doesn't know what has caused this sudden change in her that happens every night, and when more things begin to go wrong she will do whatever it takes to find the answers. I really didn't know what to expect when going into this book. The synopsis sounded very promising so I decided to give it a try. The story took off pretty quickly and didn't have a lot of back story to get through. I felt it was very fast paced and easy to get into. I was able to read the book in a combined time of about 3 hours. I was kept intrigued because I wanted to find out what Emily was turning into and what was causing her changes. (You do find out an answer to one of these, but I won't give any hints on which one). I have to say I wasn't really surprised with what I found out because all the clues are there, you just have to know how to analyze them. Now on to Emily...I definitely felt a connection with the normal Emily. I feel I am the type of person she is, a book and movie loving nerd who would rather spend a Friday night inside with a good book than out partying on the town. The following is how Emily describes herself in one part of the book and I definitely relate. "I'm the type of person who file my movies and books by title and/or author and keeps them in the most pristine of conditions. I even keep a little log of everything I own on my computer, from Books: Adams, Douglas all the way to Movies: Zodiac." However, I also liked the "Nighttime Emily" as well. She was adventurous, stubborn, independent, and didn't care what people thought of her. The plot was great. There was plenty of action without being overshadowed by romantic relationships. If you are wanting a romance read, this is definitely not for you. But if you want something full of action and mystery, you will enjoy this one.”
