Praise for Vicious

“Schwab's characters feel vital and real, never reduced to simple archetypes...In a genre that tends toward the flippant or pretentious, this is a rare superhero novel as epic and gripping as any classic comic. Schwab's tale of betrayal, self-hatred, and survival will resonate with superhero fans as well as readers who have never heard of Charles Xavier or Victor von Doom.”

"V. E. Schwab's Vicious is the superhero novel I've been waiting for: fresh, merciless, and yes, vicious. Wow."—Mira Grant, New York Times bestselling author of Blackout

“This was a satisfying read, and I am looking forward to the next installment. V.E. Schwab is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can see myself reading everything by her in the coming years. Since this is part two of what is supposed to be a trilogy(?), it’s a good idea to read the first one before starting this one. However, I think you could read this one as a standalone. Things I like about this book: - Interesting, compelling characters - Creative plotting - Satisfying ending Gilding the lily: - Some character design would be nice - There was less imagery and foreshadowing here than in the previous (at least that I could recognize), and I missed that. Who should read it: - Definitely fans of early Tarantino films - People who are into gritty low-fantasy with mostly morally grey or just villainous characters - Fans of V.E. Schwab with the disclaimer that this series is different from The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“VE what do you put in these books?? They’re so addicting I can’t put them down!!”
