The first gift arrives 11 months after Liliths mother passes away. Wrapped in a silver box and a parchment with beautiful calligraphy, she doesn’t know what to make of it. The intrigue between her and her secret admirer grows as they exchange letters and he showers her with gifts she’d not dare to get for herself.
She doesn’t know what to make of it, until she does.
This book had me sat and gagged as the kids would say, kicking my feet and cackling. But it also had me ready to throw my phone across the room in frustration. This book isn’t necessarily a literary masterpiece but it’s provocative not just in spice but in critical thinking. It shows a woman who isn’t afraid and is capable of fighting for herself.
Plus, the narrator gives the warm and fuzzies with their accents.
PS- I’m still a side character simp: I absolutely adored Noah and all his mischievous flirting.”
“This has been on my TBR for ages and was a satisfying read. I think the first half was stronger than the second and I loved the letters.
The second half felt a bit rushed with getting to the crux of what was keeping them apart but overall I thought it was a great palate cleanser. The spice actually felt sexy and the yearning was well done in the first half.”
