Two Twisted Crowns

By Rachel Gillig
Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

In the dark, spellbinding sequel to One Dark Window, Elspeth must confront the weight of her actions as she and Ravyn embark on a perilous quest to save the kingdom—perfect for readers of Hannah Whitten's For the Wolf and Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching.

Gripped by a tyrant king and in the thrall of dark magic, the kingdom is in peril. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last—and most important—one remains to be found: the Twin Alders. If they’re going to find the card before Solstice and set free the kingdom, they will need to journey through the dangerous mist-cloaked forest. The only one who can lead them through is the monster that shares Elspeth’s head: the Nightmare.

And he’s not eager to share any longer.

Praise for One Dark Window:

"Enthralling from beginning to shocking end." —Hannah Whitten, New York Times bestselling author of For the Wolf

"Pulse pounding, darkly whimsical, and aglow with treacherous magic." —Allison Saft, New York Times bestselling author of A Far Wilder Magic

Slightly Smiling Face“Stands out in the dark fantasy genre with its addictive narrative and atmospheric setting. The book’s storytelling is fluid and engaging, drawing readers into its vividly crafted world. However, the plot leans towards predictability, potentially diminishing its appeal for those who favor surprise twists. Additionally, the book’s reception was amplified by TikTok hype, possibly raising expectations too high. Despite these factors, the duology concludes satisfyingly, offering a well-rounded and contented ending that commendably meets the high bar set by the first book.”

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“I ate this duology up. I started the first book last month and bought the second as soon as it came out. Elspeth and Nightmare relationship left me a bit heartbroken but glad in way. Elm stole my heart the way he fought for Ione. I really do wish I could have taken my time because finishing it left me sad. I wanted to be in there world a bit more. Absolutely loved this duology and the second came out just as good as the first one!! This book is one where I wish I could read all over again without knowing what’s going to happen….”

Loudly Crying Face“This duology is perfection! I wished I could have taken my time with this book, but I rushed through every chapter, captivated but the story. In this book we get the bonus perspective of Elm, and my, was that worth it! He's truly swoon worthy 🥹 And Ione was just so bad ass, I loved her. The nightmare got a bigger role in this book, which I liked, he's so witty and cunning. Both storylines were exciting and got me invested, it was truly hard to put the book down. The writing style was yet again immaculate, the rhymes on point. It's also very rare that I really hate a character in a book, but Rachel Gillig managed to construct Hauth in a way that put me on edge and had me clench my jaw at how much I wanted Elm to end him. Very well done!”
