This is a great Christmas read. When Noah realizes that he fathered twins, and that the woman he has a random hookup with was tragically killed in an accident, he decides to take custody of his daughters. Growing up with out a father, he's determined that his kids won't experience the same childhood he did. The only problem with his plans? Avery's best friend was awarded custody, and she's not giving up the girls without a fight.
This is a slow developing romance. Hannah is reluctant to give into her feelings for Noah because it's just too complicated. The two hit it off immediately, though, and if it wasn't for the girls, maybe Hannah would feel differently about Noah. As it is, she's angry and frightened that his claims on the twins will be stronger than hers, and that she'll lose the babies she's helped care for from day one.
Noah isn't a bad guy, he's just a little caught up in his own self-importance. He's flies helicopters for a logging operation, a highly specialized field, and he thinks he's all at because of it. He lives in Oregon, and Hannah lives in Texas. He won't even consider giving up the job he loves, and Hannah refuses to leave her family, a major support group that helps take care of the girls, to move to Oregon.
This story is all about compromise, and finding the good in a bad situation. I really enjoyed it. It's a feel good novel, a perfect read for the holidays.”
