“I fricking ATE THIS BOOK UP. Didn't expect any less from my man, but still, I did not expect I would LOVE this book the way I did.
For one thing, I really, really admired the small-town vibes. Fun fact: This was my first ever small-town romance, and wow. I think I found one of my favorite romance tropes. Maybe I am a sucker for small-town romance— good to know!
What had me the most invested in the story, though, is the perfect chemistry between the two main characters, Jeremy and Lexie. Their banter was *CHEF'S KISS*. And the fact that when things were expected to get steamy, they were able to hold themselves back and not be rash made me love them even more deeply. They both now hold such a special place in my heart<3<3, and I can't wait to see more of them in the second book!!
But oh, Jeremy, though>>> He really is a perfect gentleman and a TRUE man indeed. HE'S JUST PERFECT.
As for Lexie, I found her so admirable just for knowing how to withdraw her affection until she's serious about him, and not by any means easily swayed until the defining moment comes.
Of course, just like with any of my man Nick's books, there's always something more than the romance/love story itself: this time, it was a matter of how far one is willing to leave behind and sacrifice their comfort to be with the other, and the ending was so incredibly heartwarming.
Now all I can do is look forward to At First Sight, and hope for the best!!♡⸜(ˆᗜˆ˵ )⸝♡”
“A cozy, clean, simple romance with a hint of a small town mystery with a satisfying ending. It doesn’t stick out to me as a favorite, but it’s good for the vibes. Pulled me out of a reading slump.”
“Love me some Nicholas Sparks. This book actually has 2 parts. This is the first one and then "At First Sight" continues the story of Jeremy & Lexy. I read this 2nd so im glad I got to read thier story before what happens in the 2nd book. I love their story.”
