About Richard Hughes
Richard Hughes closed his 24-seat safety training center on Cape Cod to become a retired student of modern worldwide shipping operations. He graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine Transportation, then obtained a Masters Degree in Business from Lesley University. While at MMA, he sailed on the Bay State, the CV Lightning, and the TS Mobil Lube.
His books include Bringing Down the Safety Guy, Deep Sea Dominoes (a print version of SeaBlameworthiness), and the Cape Safety, Inc. - Danger Dogs Series--a collection of novels detailing the exciting lives of a top-notch safety consulting firm based out of Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
He and his wife have written seven screenplays entitled Cape Car Blues, Freeport Fred's Valiant Summer, Golf Cart Ranger, Plimsoll, Training Ship, What We Can't Know, and Get Together. He is also the co-author, along with his wife Lavinia, of a novel entitled Newtucket - the Rising, and their latest novel, Training Ship.
He lives and writes in the seaside village of Waquoit, MA, with his wife Lavinia M. Hughes.

Lavinia M. Hughes, with an Associates in Science Degree from Massasoit Community College, edits Richard's books, and she is the author of Enter Through the Crawlspace--a collection of paranormal short stories, as well as An iGen Cookbook for the Unskilled, an instructional cookbook.
The couple has co-authored Newtucket - the Rising; Training Ship is their second collaboration. They live and write in their home in the seaside village of Waquoit, MA.
