“Listened to this book after having it on my reading list for years! This book provided much of the detail included in one of the first national park after dark podcast episodes. The podcast then followed up and intervied the author at least twice. This is such a tragic, but important story of two women who were murdered in a national park close to home for me. This year marks the 30th anniversary of their deaths, and it's upsetting how their case was handled in the not so far past. Julie and Lollie are two women who died way too young and who had such a great love for the outdoors. My heart goes out to their families.”

Kathryn Miles is the author of five books. Her essays and articles have appeared in publications including Audubon, Best American Essays, Best American Sports Writing, the Boston Globe, the New York Times, Outside, Politico, and Time. A contributing editor at Down East magazine, Miles also serves as a scholar-in-residence for the Maine Humanities Council and as a faculty member in several MFA programs.
