“I really think I need to set this aside and try this another time. Am listening to this on audio, and while I'm sure the narrator is a lovely person, I'm not certain she's the right fit for this novel. (My pet peeve is women narrators "doing" male voices, which unfortunately is the case with the audio version of "Tracks.") Tried reading the print version, but the audio had me distracted and confused.
There are passages in this that are lovely, simply beautiful writing. So,another time, perhaps. I've liked Louise Erdrich's work enough in the past to give her another chance with this one.”
