Publisher Description

“I’m hooked on Jaime Rush’s exciting, sexy paranormal series!”

—Janet Evanovich

One of the most exciting new names in paranormal romance is Jaime Rush—who follows her phenomenal Perfect Darkness and Out of the Darkness with Touching Darkness, the latest in her breathtaking Offspring series. Fans of TV’s Heroes and Torchwood—and of the dark and sensuous fiction of Jeaniene Frost and Vicki Pettersson—will thrill to Rush’s tales of the now-grown children of a dark experiment that left them with great powers…and in grave peril.

“It is rare that I give a book 1 star. I will caveat that rating by saying that this is book 3 of a series and I might have felt slightly differently had I started with book 1. This is a paranormal romance. The paranormal elements were passed down to this generation of 20-somethings from their parents. But they got they powers through a government experiment that was shut down. Now someone has started it up and is rounding up the Offspring. The someone is frustrated CIA scientist Darkwell. His daughter Olivia has always followed her father blindly but when she meets Nick, one of the Offspring, she has to learn to think for herself. He forces her to confront truths she had never thought to ask. The problem for me was twofold. I didn't like Olivia. She was a CIA employee but she behaved liked a recent escapee from a convent. But I also didn't find the world building compelling. It took me ages to get past the 30 pages. As for the chemistry between Nick and Olivia, the sex was hot but their relationship suggested sweet. The entire book just didn't jell for me.”

About Jaime Rush

Since she was a kid, Jaime Rush devoured books on unexplained mysteries and psychic phenomena. She knew she would be published, marry a fabulous guy, and win a Toyota Supra. Missing the romance, relationship drama, and action of her favorite television shows—X-Files, Roswell, and Highlander—she created her own mix in the Offspring series.
