“The stores in the anthology are very varied – but that also means they are very uneven. A few great ones, but also some dreadfully unengaging (at least for me) time-stealers 😕. A danger of putting together an anthology with no central theme, I guess.
I really liked the titular story set in the Old Kingdom, the fairytale with the scary unicorn, the one with the school for witches, the sci-fi vampire hunters, the Robin Hood meets king Arthur retelling, and the Sherlock Holmes-adjacent Cthulhu thingy. The rest were either just decent or completely meh.
