“I desperately wanted to like this book.
The cover art is beautiful; the concept is interesting and had potential; the characters had details that were interesting; the writing was excellent; but...
There is nothing to this story and it felt like a chore to read it. I am not sure if it was the pacing of the story, the timing of the reveals, the misleading nature of the cover art, or something else, but I could not finish this book. What I did read had some enjoyable quotes and the characters made me laugh, but the story felt as if there were no substance. I could not continue reading it.”
