“I really wanted to like this book. The more I read, the more I started to dislike it. I thought I would be able to finish this book but I couldn’t force myself to do it. I had high expectations for the book but it was very disappointing. The characters in the story weren’t really interesting but one of them was. Shoutout to Owen! I felt like the book was getting dragged on and that the story felt like it wasn’t really going anywhere. So I stopped reading it.”booksandbre

Misa Sugiura’s ancestors include a poet, a priestess, a samurai, and a stowaway. Her first novel, It’s Not Like It’s a Secret, was the winner of the Asian/Pacific American Award for YA Literature.
