Publisher Description

New York Times Bestseller!

“This moving read will have you reaching for the tissues and smiling with delight….Stunningly alive on the page, Esther shows that sometimes the true meaning of life—helping and loving others—can be found even when bravely facing death.” –People Magazine, 4 stars

In full color and illustrated with art and photographs, this is a collection of the journals, fiction, letters, and sketches of the late Esther Grace Earl, who passed away in 2010 at the age of 16. Essays by family and friends help to tell Esther’s story along with an introduction by award-winning author John Green who dedicated his #1 bestselling novel The Fault in Our Stars to her.

“I read this years ago when I was a teenager, not long after I read The Fault In Our Stars. Decided to pick up a copy again second-hand and give it another read, because I randomly thought about it one afternoon and wanted to experience it again. A lovely book full of journal entries, doodles, blog posts and photos of Esther Earl, and especially touching and emotional in some parts.”
“I finally got around to finishing this book. I purchased it at Leakycon 2014, which was my first Esther Day. I didn't know the whole story, but Esther sounds like a wonderful human and I would've loved to have met her. Her story is motivating and makes me proud that I am pursuing a medical career. Now knowing more about her story, I am proud to be able to celebrate Esther Day every year, even when I can't make it to con. #RestInAwesomeEsther and I hope you realize how amazing all of your work is. And to the Earl family, I'm glad I met some of you when I bought this book, you're all super awesome for sharing Esther's story with the world. DFTBA! P.S. my keychain flashlight from Leakycon 2014 still shines bright and it's a reminder that This Star Won't Go Out <3”
