“This was a really fun read! I have always loved Schwab’s ideas and her writing and this was no exception! I really enjoyed the concept and the characters quite a bit. Wish there was more plot and less set up, but it was still good!”
“This is the first book in the Monsters of Verity series. It was so intriguing with the concept of a Sunai and how they are a monster with a vibe that reminds of an Angel who has the right to kill sinners. It brings up the question of who is a sinner, and can people be sinners if the world is corrupt and always against them? I love August so much as a character and how he is trying to find his humanity and later accepting his fate as a monster but a monster who has a good heart. I love Kate and how she describes different versions of herself she wish she could be if she lived in a different environment and how she grows throughout the book. I liked the different kinds of monsters in this book. Honorable mention for Isla because I loved her so much as a side character and wish she had more scenes with her in it. I am starting the second book asap.”
