“‘Skull-belly’-Simple, but as it neared the end became suspenseful. It was a nice shock at the end and the creature also gets a shoutout in a later story. ‘The Stranger’- Trippy in the sense of “Is this really happening right now? WTF?!” This story has to be one of my favorites from this collection. ‘Fierce’-Wow, last, but not least! I loved the twist on this tale! The back and forth that went between a traumatic experience both mother and daughter had in the past that led to scarring on both and the present nightmare cod being targeted and attacked by a tow truck guy was insane! “Skullbelly
This one was pleasantly creepy. Ambience was on point. You don’t ever SEE Skullbelly but honestly you don’t need to.
The Separation
A divorce creates one HELL of a separation problem.
The Stranger
A dude locks himself in a car and gets the hangries.
After the Fade
The Mist but it happens in a bar and those trapped actually like each other.
Fierce
A mother saves her daughter from a dangerous situation and now it’s the daughter’s turn to save her. Followed by what the fuck is in that basement?!
I can happily say everything in this book definitely LURKS.”
