“This is my kind of book... fake dating, forbidden love, forced proximity and there is an end date to it all making you really get wrapped up in it all!
Definitely a five star read! My goodness I loved this story.... Henry is an English contractor that is working nearby. He recently went through a broken engagement and ruined one of his fathers business deals in its wake. He's working hard to complete a house and prove to his father he can take over the family business. Clara is a anxious, incredibly shy, Amish women who has had a tough life. When her parents died, and then her grandparents she was left moving in with her Amish Aunt. And while she loves the Amish faith and joined it, her extreme anxiety and shyness is standing in the way of meeting a nice Amish guy to settle down with. But all that changes when Clara and Henry work together on the house he is repairing and they come into an agreement to fake date. He will help her overcome her shyness, and she will help everyone stop trying to get him back with his exfiancee. They need each other more than anything. They both seem to need someone to hear them out, understand them, and believe in them. Their friendship is top priority.... but as they spend time together they start to see they don't ever want their arrangement to end! Except once the house is finished, he leaves. And what happens when Clara finally starts getting the attention of the Amish man she always wanted?! And truthfully an Englishcer and an Amish woman aren't permitted to marry!
This was such a good story, I couldn't put it down. And while some stories have moments you find yourself speeding reading through to get to the "good part"... this one was ALL good! This was my first time reading a book by Lucy Bayer, but it WON'T be my last!!!”
