As these friends move from the late 2000’s into the late 2020’s, from young adults to grown women, they must figure out what they mean to one another—amid political upheaval, economic and environmental instability, and the increasing volatility of modern American life.

“This was good. I feel like the story was like was every which way. Each chapter took a few moments for me get into it because I didn’t know who we were following that chapter.”
“I definitely struggle more with character development books than plot driven or emotionally pulling books. I tried so hard, but this character driven book did not hit for me. I can appreciate that Flournoy was showing the unpredictables of life but none of the character story lines were compelling to me. The story also jumped around all over the place, making it even harder for me to remember who was who, in what year, and their significance.”
