By Cara Hunter
The Whole Truth by Cara Hunter digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

From Cara Hunter, the New York Times bestselling author of Murder in the Family, comes the fifth novel in her DI Fawley detective series, one of Britain’s most enduringly popular and mega-selling crime series.

When DI Adam Fawley is assigned a sexual assault case filed by an Oxford student against a tenured professor, he expects the facts to match up with the far too many previous reports he’s investigated time and again. But neither he nor anyone on his team imagined the victim would turn out to be a male rugby player accusing one of the university’s most respected female professors.

As the detectives try to unravel the truth behind the he said/she said crime, another threat arises—someone with a personal grudge against Fawley. . .

Thinking Face“This was February’s book for bookclub. It is the fifth book on the DI Adam Fawley Series but you could read it as a stand-alone. At the start of this book the author gives us a quick summary of the characters, I haven’t read a police procedural that had a character summary but I loved it because it made it easier to understand. I really enjoyed the way the whole truth was written its very descriptive, and thought-provoking. It is written in the format of podcasts, diary entries, police interviews and thoughts of the characters instead of chapters because of this it meant I couldn’t put it down. Although I was hooked this book contains detailed sexually assault, it is the books main focus and plot so I would suggest if you are triggered easily to not read it. I was close to giving it a 4 stars but I felt there was a couple of holes and loose ends, there was times I was a bits confused to why it was there but they may be answered in the next book but I was expecting them to be explained by the ending. Some parts were a bit unrealistic but this book was well researched, gripping, twisty and quite dark. 3.5 Stars”
