“I will admit, I am truly late to the PG Woodhouse party.
I had always heard so much about this particularly peculiar storyteller, but I didn’t want to rely on just hearsay and hype. I took my own sweet time to find my way to him and I did it in the easiest way possible. The White Feather was a fun short read which not only reminded me why I first fell in love with reading so many years ago, it reminded me of a time where I wish I existed.
If I’m being completely honest, I struggled initially in the book to find the head & shoulders of the story, swinging between staring at the cover image and the back cover profile to make sense of what I was reading inside. It took a while for the scene to be set and the protagonist to finally catch my attention in the story, but the way Woodhouse beautifully moulds the environment into the plot and protagonist’s struggle arrives like a beautifully gift wrapped present on Christmas morning.
For anyone wishing to get back into reading, I highly recommend this book.”
