The Weapon

By Jeffery Deaver & Clive Cussler
The Weapon by Jeffery Deaver & Clive Cussler digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Retired Colonel James J. Peterson is head of a covert—and illegal—intelligence-gathering operation known as IAS. When he's briefed on a national security threat that could unleash a weapon capable of "significant damage", there seem to be more questions than answers. What kind of weapon is it? Conventional? Nuclear? Or something altogether new? And who's behind the threat? Al-Qaeda? The Koreans? The Iranians? It's up to Colonel Peterson's black site operation to find the answers and to neutralize the weapon before it's unleashed on the United States. The problem? He only has four days to do it.

About Jeffery Deaver

Jeffery Deaver (b. 1950) is an American author of thrillers. Born near Chicago, Illinois, he practiced law before writing his first novel, , in 1988. This story of Rune, a video-store clerk who investigates a client’s murder, established Deaver’s talent for psychological suspense. He wrote two more novels starring Rune before moving on to (1992), which introduced location scout and amateur sleuth John Pellam. (1997) kicked off a long-running series starring paralyzed detective Lincoln Rhyme; this debut title was made into a film starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie in 1999.   Deaver alternates his Rhyme novels with standalone books such as (2004) and (2010), as well as a series about body-language analyst Kathryn Dance. In addition to his success as an author, Deaver is an accomplished folk musician, and recorded an album to accompany (2012), the third Kathryn Dance novel. He lives in New York City.
