“I have never felt so conflicted by the levels of both disturbance and excitement this book made me feel, lol. Amazing storytelling! It reads like a movie. Unfortunately, I think for this to make it to the big screen a lot would end up cut out. You need a strong stomach to watch this...
A lot of the stuff about the twins felt a bit out of place to me until things developed towards the end. I was also conflicted about Lockhart, but I think that was intentional.”

“Finding a good possession/exorcism novel can feel like an exercise in futility at times. They often seem to try too hard and fall short for me. I found The Wakening to, thankfully, be an exception. The characters are reasonably fleshed out and have complicated & intriguing histories. The story conveyed the feelings and atmosphere I enjoy in exorcism novels very well. I appreciate the multi-decade timeline of the story that answered enough questions to satisfy the reader. I would absolutely recommend this story to someone looking for this type of book.”
