“I was really blindsided by how much I love Virginia Woolf. Her writing is so unique, particularly for the time - her descriptions are beautiful and poetic. Additionally, she has no mercy, and she does not care about your feelings. 😅
Altogether, this was a beautiful if slow paced book that painted a tiny community of privileged English people vacationing abroad somewhere in South America in the 1910s. I will definitely be checking out the uncensored version, which was published in 1981 under the novel's original title, Melymbrosia.”
