Publisher Description

A sexy standalone romance from writing duo Rebecca Norinne and Jamaila Brinkley kicks off the "witty and heartwarming" River Hill Series. When new neighbors Noah and Angelica butt heads, the only thing more infuriating than their rivalry is how much they can't stop wanting each other.

With roles for "curvy best friend" drying up fast, Angelica Travis is happy to leave Hollywood behind to renovate a bed and breakfast in River Hill, the jewel of California's bucolic wine country. She's got plans and power tools ready, but an inconvenient attraction to her handsome new neighbor is not on the agenda.

Noah Bradstone's master plan is right on schedule until construction on the B&B next door threatens his prize-winning pinot noir grapes. When he confronts his gorgeous new neighbor about a driveway project gone awry, she's the single most infuriating woman he's ever met. What's even more infuriating is that he wants her anyway.

Despite their constant bickering, it turns out that Angelica and Noah have more in common than they thought—including an attraction that burns red hot. But when his past and her future collide, their relationship is put to the test. Can their love survive a series of shocking revelations? Better yet, can they survive each other?

The Vintner's Vixen Reviews

“This was entertaining and engaging. I like how the two main characters Angelica and Noah don’t start out on the right foot and have misconceptions about one another and yet they are attracted and want to act on that attraction. Noah is in the wine business. He is a good guy-kind and sweet but can be grumpy. He is from a wine family that is well known. His mom is a social climber and it bugs Noah. He just wants to grow his grapes and produce good wine. He doesn’t want a girl to like him for what he can do for her social circles. So when his day starts with his prized vines being ripped up you know that things are going to be dicey and fun. Angelica is a sweet, hard working woman who left the Hollywood scene to be who she wanted to be-Angelica just Angelica. Not the model she once was and not the actress that everyone wants to change. So she buys the house and land next to Noah in the hopes of changing it to a B&B. When Noah comes over about her contractors pulling up his vines we see the sparks fly. The banter is sassy and fun between these two throughout the book. We see this as their first meet and both get the wrong impression but Angelica is understanding to a point. So they come up with a deal but that doesn’t help the attraction. Next time they meet we see the green eyed monster come out when Angelica’s filming crew is there to film the renovation of her house. Only this doesn’t help quell the attraction either and has Noah a little taken aback and wary because of his past dealings with the social elite and his mom. We see them come to an agreement again and that they have more in common than thought they did. They learn they may have hastily judged one another and so a fun friendship with bennies begins. Only the filming of her renovation does upset their balance at some point and Noah questions Angelica instead of listening to his heart. He realizes his mistakes and goes for help and we see that he deals with his issues. The ending was sweet and loving. All in all the book has you love all the characters and root for love to rule out. with Noah and angelica neither began their time wanting a relationship but things changed and they fell in love. This wasn’t insta love but an exploration of learning about one another first and going from there. the story is entertaining and engaging. Noah’s friends are a hoot and so sweet. Angelica and Noah’s story is nicely paced and keeps you in the moment but also full of love, respect and support from the other especially at the end. a great romance and good beginning to the series.”
“The socialite wine maker and the retired actress turned Bed and Breakfast owner have some hot chemistry. These two neighbors get off on the wrong foot, but with one look in the beginning you know that there is going to be something special. This book made me laugh out loud at some of the antics that happen to get these two to decide that they are truly meant to find their happily ever after with each other. I really enjoyed this book and cant wait to read more of the series.”
