“Book:The Viking She Loves To Hate
Author: Lucy Morris
Length: 259 pages
Publisher: Harlequin
Overall Rating: 5/5 Stars

Northern Fjords, AD 830
Like any father King Viggo, Astrid Viggosdottir, father, wants a better life for his daughter so her father uses her passion for boat building and her desire to be the master builder in a competition with newcomer Ulrik. A Viking who recently arrived with his daughter named Frida who is a motherless father.
Now Princess Astrid’s scheming father sets up a competition between Asrid and Ulrik. Ulrik is a man who once saved her father’s life and took an axe in the leg for him. However if she loses she will be forced to marry a Jarl. This is the last thing she wants to do. Asrid enjoys her life of independence and her passion for being a boat builder, plus she loves that she will be known as a master boat builder.
However if Ulrik loses he will be exiled from their land and be forced to abandon his motherless child which is absolutely heartbreaking. Soon Asrid is aware she should detest this stranger but their attraction and desire only builds.
You can't help but adore this previous warrior and honorable man and his daughter. I highly recommend another fabulous Lucy Morris book where opposites attract.
I was hooked right from the start as my favorite London author does it again! She spins another gripping Viking tale that I could not put down. Again, Morris pens a phenomenal Viking tale with multi-dimensional characters, elaborate plotting with a riveting and intricate storyline that readers will absolutely love!
A book I absolutely recommend.

“Lucy Morris’s books are always a treat. Her characters are intriguing, lively, fiery and unique; her stories are well researched, with lots of interesting historical bits about the everyday life of the Vikings of old, but the descriptions are never overwhelming and boring and always perfectly intertwined with the plot. As it is should be, the focus of the book is always the love story. And in this case the chemistry between Astrid and Ulrik is palpable! I didn’t like Astrid at first, because she seemed a real brat, spoiled and spiteful, but as I got to know her and her motivations I started to understand her better. It’s certainly frustrating to be able to do a man’s job better than any man and being underestimated and forced toward more “feminine” pursuits. And Urlik is such a good man! A real cinnamon roll, but also a man who fights for the people he loves. A wonderful read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
