“I just finished this with my 6 year old, and we were so happy to dive back into the world of the Vanderbeekers.
The plot and characters make for fantastic conversation together after we read each night. What makes this so perfect for a read aloud is the author’s incredible writing. The vocabulary she uses and the sentence structure is easy to understand in context but also gives so many great words for my daughter to hear and practice. It’s one of those books that’s easy to access but is so good for little one’s brains to work through. The plot in this one was a bit slower, but in a beautiful way. It’s so nice to slow down from real life and sink into a book that makes you feel as if you know the family and are revitalizing the special garden right alongside them. I feel like this will be the series my daughter and I reminisce about that truly started her love of reading.”Waylonreads
