My Review:
The Undercover Scoundrel... Peterson has written a wonderful book filled with action, suspense, a little romance, and a speckle of mystery in her newest installment. Undercover Scoundrel was a fun read from beginning to end. I love watching our h/h deal with all the debacles surrounding their lives while trying to answer all the questions that arise. This book has it all. The fun, the tragic, the sweet, the silly, the serious... it brings a buffet of emotions and beautiful imagery for the readers and characters so full of life you can actually believe they may have existed at one point in time. I have a thing for the reunion type reads for some reason they get me every time plus the maturity and experience that comes with time makes things so much more better. I really enjoyed reading this book, I am sad its the end of the series but I look forward to reading more of Peterson's work in the very near future.

Undercover Scandal by Jessica Peterson is a 2015 Berkley pubication. I as provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This! This is what I want in a historical romance!
Twelve years have passed since Henry abruptly disappeared after a secret marriage to Caroline, leaving Caroline broken and laboring under the impression Henry was dead. Now, Caroline is widowed, out of mourning, and has returned to London to visit her brother, ready to enjoy all the freedoms widowhood will give her, never imagining she would come face to face with the man who broke her heart all those years ago.
I loved Henry right away because it's obvious he did not WANT to leave his new bride and has suffered for twelve years for the decision he had to make. I didn't know why he left, but I knew it was not because he was a scoundrel. He is a little too serious and stoic at times, but he feels deeply, is brave, noble and quite passionate. Ladies, you will fall in love with this guy!
“He kissed her far less chastely than was proper at a wedding, even a secret one. He kissed her as if every stroke, every pull, every move of their lips roused, rather than satiated, a growing need in him.”
Caroline believes she was wronged by Henry and is so angry with him. Now, ladies, really..remember, she has no idea why he left her and you do. So, let's give her the benefit of the doubt here.
“You'll do what you think is right.... just like you did twelve years ago.”
“Do you not think I made the right choice then?”
“There was no right choice, Henry.”
There was no right choice now.
I actually thought Caroline stole the show in this one. She was so funny at times, and wow, talk about character growth. This lady can really think fast, is brave, passionate, and quite heroic in her own right.
Great characterization, perfect pacing, authentic in language, dress, and tradition. Steamy, passionate romance, witty dialogue, and an all around fun and entertaining read.”
