“I read this book as part of the Fable August Reading Challenge and it turned out to be an absolute delight. Nana, the witty feline narrator, steals the show as he and his human, Satoru, embark on a road trip filled with catty mischief, heart-wrenching moments, and a whole lot of sass. Arikawa masterfully balances humor and emotion, creating a story that's both entertaining and thought-provoking.
What I thought this book did really well was to highlight the power of small, everyday moments to bring joy and meaning to our lives in such an understated yet profound way. The way the book explored the deep bond between humans and their pets was quite thoughtfully executed; Nana's determination to stay with Satoru is both hilarious and touching.
If you're someone who appreciates emotional depth and resonance in the books you've enjoyed, you may find The Travelling Cat Chronicles to be a heartwarming and provocative read.”
